“TN Recruits was born in 2014 to recruit support staff for office based companies in and around the TN postcode, but I always had it in my mind that there was a scalability opportunities with different postcodes and divisions. ME Recruits has now been up and running for over three years now. It’s doing really well and that’s all down to Helen Barham, she’s incredible and absolutely superb at what she does, her craft and approach is second to none. ME Recruits and Helen are a real success story.
Then, about eighteen months ago we launched TN Recruits Law which is headed up by Emma Moss, one of the first placements she made with us was a solicitor it seemed like an obvious move. Emma studied law and had a natural interest in the sector. She is one of the hardest working people I’ve ever worked with. Along with an exceptional work rate, she is very professional and conducts herself extremely well.
Then Rachel Fisher approached me, I knew Rachel as a candidate some 14 years ago, she then went into recruitment and was working within another recruitment company for quite some time. She came to me looking for her next challenge locally and we decided we could open an accountancy division with her heading it up, TN Recruits Accounts is fast becoming the number one choice for candidates and clients across Kent, Sussex and Surrey.
Over the past year we’ve launched TN Recruits Temps, we’ve always had temps working for us since we started but we now have someone solely dedicated to growing the temporary division, placing temps in offices and warehouses all around the South East. TN Recruits Temps is headed up by Melissa Staveley and she’s doing an excellent job! The word on the street is that temporary placements will grow quicker than permanent placements as we come out of lockdown and we are well placed to deal with the anticipated surge.
Then we have Alfie, he’s been working with us for just over a year. He took on a vacancy to place a car technician vacancy and filled it. He’s since enjoyed speaking with a variety of candidates and clients within the Automotive sector and his passion for cars has meant we’ve been able to launch our newest division TN Recruits Automotive.
We have added to the TN Recruits Group this year by recruiting the very talented Jo Strong. Jo has worked in recruitment for a number of years and is making a big impact on clients and candidates in and around the TN Postcode. Her relationship building skills and desire to succeed are proving a hit.
It wouldn’t be possible to run the TN Recruits Group without the backbone of Ellie Snuggs holding us together. Ellie provides first class support to the team and myself with marketing, office management, administration and much more.
A major development for us is that we have adopted our own video technology, we use it to present candidates and as a result of that we are providing a much better service to our clients. After a tough summer in 2020, we had a strong end to the year and 2021 has started very well. If we keep going the way we are we will continue to be successful in finding the right candidates for companies whilst creating amazing career opportunities for our candidates. So many good things have slotted into place and because all our registrations are now being done on video, it’s saving our clients so much time and making us more efficient in the way we work.”

“I left school with very few qualifications and initially coached Football and Gymnastics but fancied doing something a little bit different, so I worked in entertainment. I was a Blue Coat for Pontins and then became an Entertainments Manager for Airtours overseas. Towards my late 20’s, my wife and I decided we wanted to move back to the UK and settle down. I was originally from North West London, my wife and her family were from Tunbridge Wells and the surroundings. Having visited a number of times, we fell in love with Kent and Tunbridge Wells quite quickly and realised it was the right place for us.
When we arrived here I didn’t really know what I was going to do. I sold advertising for the Courier for three years, which gave me a grounding in sales whilst finding my way around Kent and Sussex. I then discovered recruitment and quickly realised it was something I really enjoyed as it combined all the people skills gained during my ‘university of life’ along with the opportunity to be directly rewarded for working hard. After eight years in recruitment, my Dad passed away, he was only 66 and at the time I was 38, based upon those ages I had 28 years left. This experience gave me the kick up the backside I needed to start my own business. I believed I had some good ideas that I could put into practice and wanted to put my own spin on things and so TN Recruits was born. Because of my love of Tunbridge Wells and the surrounding areas, I was motivated to help local companies and candidates fulfil their potential. Along the way I joined BNI, Tunbridge Wells which helped me to meet a number of local suppliers who are now my support network. TN Recruits now has ten members of staff to date and will continue to expand in the coming years.”
